Good afternoon,   As my last post rambled on about my lack of desire to work and total ambition to be retired, I have news! I now have 2 jobs in the restaurant business.  Oh yes 2. I am waiting tables at 2 local places trying to make ends meet. Why oh why couldn’t I have been a trust fund kid?

As I know there is nothing I can do about that, I must push forward and kill myself working!  But I will say that I have been trying to complete a few small projects around the house that really seem to make a big difference.  I changes the pulls out in my kitchen, white to brushed nickel added some hooks to the back door area and I made some really cute curtains for the butler’s pantry. I feel very accomplished at the moment.  So here are a few pictures to show my progress.white before

So cute and fun. And to think I made them out of a shower curtain.

Yep you read correctly. A shower curtain. I bought 3 of them on clearance.

I am going to make some pillow covers for my front porch swing. The colors will be so bright and fun and they will last through

the summer up til fall starts rolling around!

Oh and by the way. . .

there are only 153 days until

YAY!!! My heart just skipped a beat!!!

Ok well that is for another day! Stay tuned for more fun stuff.

Good Grief! It has been too long yet again.

Things here are still a bit nuts. How about you and your lives? I feel like I work all the time and have only a few seconds to do the fun stuff life offers.

I have so many project that I want to start, finish and enjoy, but never the time to begin or complete them.

I really want to retire.

I know at the age of 40 that seems pretty silly but dammit I wanna!

I want to work in  my little garage workshop and create fun items that I can sell.  Is that too much to ask for? I don’t think so.

On a more springy note, I have the most beautiful Iris’ growing in mu back yard. They are such a deep purple and I love them.

When we moved into our new house there was a large tree growing in the back yard. It was too close to the house and was hitting the side of the roof, so we had it cut down and the stump ground up.

So when the weather started warming up these green leaves started popping up everywhere in that area. I almost cut them down with the lawn mower but decided against it. I am glad I did. Because the outcome is amazing.

Here we have Eloise sitting on the back porch with all the pretty things I planted this afternoon. She is a ham when it comes to pictures.

Lazy Eloise

Such a sweet girl.

So I guess I will see how things go. Keep your fingers crossed that I get to retire! Ha ha.

A little fairy told me that there is a Mad Tea Party in the making. I am so happy to hear this news. Each year Mrs. Vanessa Valencia of A Fanciful Twist hosts a Blog Party dedicated to the maddest friends and followers she knows. There is food, art, crafts, music and much more.

So in preparation and anxious anticipation of the date, I am making a scrumptious dessert!

1 ¼ cups (lightly spooned in the measuring cup and leveled with a knife) flour

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 tsps baking powder

½ tsp salt

6 Tbs (3 oz) unsalted butter, melted and cooled

½ cup water

1 large egg, at room temperature

1 yolk from a large egg, at room temperature

1 Tbs vanilla extract

Position an oven rack in the center of the oven and preheat oven to 375°F

Line 12 regular-sized (2 ¾-inch diameter) muffin cups with paper or foil liners.

Put the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a medium or large mixing bowl and whisk to combine.

Put the melted butter, water, egg and yolk and vanilla in a small bowl and whisk until well blended.

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and whisk until well blended and smooth, about 1 minute

I added chocolate chips to mine!!!

Portion the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean, 14 to 16 minutes.

Move to a wire rack and let cool for 15 minutes.

Carefully remove the cupcakes from the pan, set them on a wire rack and let cool completely.

Frost as you please. Eat as many as you like, in thoughtful moderation and saving some to share.

As soon as a date is set for the Tea Party I will surely share it with you!!

So keep checking back!

Until Then,
