Hello everyone.  I am a bit behind with a month of my favorite Halloween-ish movies.  Not all of them are scary.  Some are funny, some are gross, some creepy and some are about magic and Love.  But they are all my favorites and I want to share them with you.

The first Movie I have chosen for my month of  movies is Coraline!

I know that it is a Kids movie but I have to tell you it scares the ba-jesus outta me!  It really is a dark little movie.  The “Other Mother” creeps me out and I have to say that it makes me want to check under my bed before I go to sleep.  I mean it is a basic story.  Little girl and her family move to the country to get away from the city and start fresh.  Parents still ignore the little girl because they are to busy with life.  Little girl finds secret passage to a topsie tervie world where everything is perfect in every way, just to realize that perfect does not mean good! She fights the evil Mother and returns to her not so perfect world and lives happily ever after!  This is the short version of it but I promise it is worth the watch.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

Until then,

Thanks Giving greetings,

Sorry that I have been MIA this month but things have been Not so Good around my house.  My eldest (14 year old) Fur Baby “Ennis” took a turn for the worse, health wise.   He had a stroke about a 8 months ago and we found out that he has Cushing’s disease. These things have pretty much made him very weak and his muscles are just deteriorating.  We have to carry him in and out of the house and also to eat or drink water.  He did not even have the strength to shift positions when he was lying in his bed.  His eye sight was quickly failing, his hearing the same.   Just this past Sunday he began to not eat and his water intake was very minimal.  We knew that his time with us was limited. We had a decision to make no matter how hard it would be.

On Wednesday November 23, 2016 I said good bye to my best friend, soul mate, kindred spirit, Familiar.  My heart is shattered and my spirit burns less bright with him gone.

14 years ago this handsome boy chose me to be his human and my life has been better because of it.

The day he found me

Each day is hard. I miss him so much but I know that he is happy and free running the fields with his 2 sisters.  No pain, no worries just happy and free.

Until we meet again,

The day I let him go.

Good Morning,

One year ago to the day and almost time of the morning I was startled awake by a phone call.  I did not recognize the number so I rejected it and shut my eyes.  Seconds later the phone rings again.  It was a woman’s voice introducing herself in a very matter of fact but professional way.  Then the most life changing words hit my ears.  Your Husband has been in an accident and he needs you to get here as soon as you can!    He was headed to work that Friday morning ( he rode a motor cycle, a  Triumph)  and he was still in our neighborhood.   A lady sitting at a stop sign on her cell phone never looked up when she decided to enter the intersection. She hit and ran over my husband.  When I approached the scene my heart was broken. It takes a lot to walk up on your husband lying there with his clothing being cut off.  Needles to say his body was broken but his spirit was not. He was calm and had his wits about him to make sure I stayed calm.  After 2 ambulance rides to 2 different hospitals, emergency spleen surgery, artery replacement in his crushed left arm and a rod in his right hip to fix the broken femur head, I finally took a breath!  Although I was not involved in the accident it is true what they say. . .  My life flashed before my eyes.  I have no idea how I could live my life with out my Husband.   We tell the people in our lives we love them and it is true but this made me realize that it is more than love. It is love, companionship, friendship, compassion, dislike, arguments,  jokes, fun times and sadness.  It is Life and mine would not be fulfilled without Stephen in it.

Thank goodness he is tough as nails and has made a remarkable recovery. He says he should have been a stunt man! He was blessed that day with a second chance at Life.  I feel like I got a wake up call as well.  Do not take life and Love for granted.  Make sure to tell those in your life that you Love them but be sure to show them everyday.  wess

This photo above was the happiest day of my life.

Until they told me Stephen would recover from his accident. Then it was the second happiest day.

I can not imagine stumbling through life with out him beside me!

Feeling Blessed.

Until Then,

Well here I am to give the last post about my wonderful birthday weekend of camping and hiking.  We did a smaller hike up to Pulpit Rock.  It was a beautiful morning and the view was breath-taking.

It is so amazing how the rocks balance like they do.

We came across this guy who was gearing up to rappel down the side of the cliff.

Weird how we only ran into 3 people the entire time we were up there hiking.

All on different days.

I just can not help myself when it comes to this Man.

I love sneaking photos of him while he is sitting

and contemplating Life

This little fella was hanging around while we were preparing our last meal if the trip.

While steaks sizzled on the grill, we sat and watched the sun set.

The evening could not have been more perfect.

I love you Stephen for planning such a wonderful birthday getaway.

As much fun as this trip was and sooooo relaxing. I was a bit ready to pack up and head back home.

I am ready to see my Fur Babies and get hugs and kisses from them.

As you can see. . .

They were ready for us to return home too!

Until Then,

Hello Dear Friends,

I welcome you to my Madly Mellow Tea Party. What is this you ask?  Well let me explain.  I am a part of a wonderful family. It is the Mellow Mushroom Family. The Mellow Mushroom is a pizza restaurant that sprinkles the US.  It is a hand tossed, hippy, trippy, craft beer serving, groovy tune playin kinda joint.  A fellow server friend (Suzy) who happens to be an amazing artist (with Mad Skills) painted the restrooms in a wonderful Alice in Wonderland theme. Which is perfect for this post.   And so the story begins.

Here we have Alice growing too fast.

Eat me! Drink me! Decisions decisions.

Turn the key and see what awaits behind the magical door.

And there had to be cool mushrooms.

That crazy grin from the Cheshire cat really is perfect.

And who can forget the drunk Door Mouse?

Mr. Hare looks very confused but so dapper in his suit.

And this guy! He is perfectly painted.

His cloak means Mellow Mushroom = Pie (pizza pie)

Suzy has the neatest business called Paint the Town Mobile.

She does private parties and group events.  It is so much fun and a great way to

get your artistic groove on.

I hope you have enjoyed this little trip down the rabbit hole. It has been fun.

Now time to finish my pretzels and pizza!!!

My Mr. and I are finally getting to go canoeing!

Oh,  did I forget to mention that he bought me a canoe for my birthday that is coming up in 18 days?????

He completely surprised me with it! We have been talking about getting a canoe or kayaks for a few years now but we never acted on it.

And just like that out of the blue we are now proud owners of a canoe.

He has been working on a way to store it in the garage so we can just drive the jeep under it and lower it right on top.

It is working out well. I thought of using pool noodles to keep it from scratching the top!

Aren’t I  clever?

Getting ready to head to Mobile Bay.

We are heading down one of the many little water ways that cut through the marsh lands.

I am sure he will be thrilled that I put this on here. Oh well, we had a blast.

I am sure there are going to be many more posts of our new hobby!

Until Then,

It seems like spring is already over here in Mobile Alabama. It lasted about 3 weeks. I know I should be happy about that but I like to enjoy all of the seasons. Some more than others. As I feel the hot humid days getting longer, I am excited about one thing. . . CRAWFISH!

Cold beer and hot mud bugs are the best way to finish off a week!  I attended my cousin’s 65th birthday this past weekend and had a blast with family and friends. It was nice to sit back and relax.

We had a great day!
